Irene has been a registered veterinary technician at Fillmore Vet Hospital and working for Dr. VanderWel for over 30 years. She went to Vet Tech School at Colby Community Jr College Colby, Kansas. Irene and her husband, Jerry have 2 grown children, 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Irene raised Boston Terriers for many years, and now has 1 Boston Terrier named, Brooker. Irene likes to dance, bake, go to Broncos games, and spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren.Being a Veterinary Technician has been a fun and rewarding career.



Rebecca, CVT graduated from Bel-Rea Animal Institute  in 1996 and has worked in the veterinary field since.  Feral cat rescue has been a passion. Spaying & neutering  over 50 felines over the years. She also enjoys baking and  making jam and jellies.

Kate was born in Western Washington and moved to South Dakota for middle school and high school. After taking a few years to travel and do volunteer work, she settled on her first love as a career: a certified veterinary technician. Kate graduated in 2014 from the Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology and has been given the opportunity to spend every day surrounded by her passion for animals. In her spare time, Kate hikes in the beautiful Colorado Springs area with her best friend, Marley.

Lauri is a Colorado native. Growing up in Colorado Springs, Lauri appreciates the beautiful mountains. She has three wonderful human children and a few furry ones, as well! Lauri started her career in the veterinary field in 2005 working at HSPPR. She is now very happy working as a vet assistant at Fillmore Veterinary Hospital. 

Lea grew up in Colorado and found the Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology when it was first launched and became one of the very first graduates in 2011. Lea discovered an interest in animal behavior during some continuing education classes and furthered her education there through the Karen Pryor Academy of Animal Training and Behavior. She has worked in veterinary medicine for 7 years now. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 dogs.
